KAOSHIUNG 2-days Trip ^^ - Transport

Paise..so long din update my blog. Finally start to do my elective stuff..=p
Now, let us go back to 3 days ago where 2 little girls..backpack to Kaoshiung!!!^^

First of all, we took train(or Taitie) from Tainan to Kaoshiung. I find the timetable of the trains are quite hard to understand. So I just simplified the thing tat u need to take note, so that u won`t lost somewhr else.
First of all, there are three types of train overall. They are divided based on speed, and so the faster the train, the more expensive the ticket.
The fastest will be 自强号 (Ziqiang Hao) -> 莒光号 (Juguang Hao) -> 区间号 (Qujian Hao)
1. Ziqiang Hao really very fast. It only stop at main destinations only.So u have to make sure that ur destinations are in its route. Of coz, its ticket is the most expensive, for exp: from Tainan to Kaoshiung - NT110++
2. Juguang Hao is the 2nd fast. It stops at more destinations than Ziqiang Hao and of coz will eat up more time. The ticket is ard NT85++
3. Qujian Hao is the slowest. It took ard 50min to 1 hour to reach Kaoshiung. The advantage is it stop at more stations and the ticket is cheaper (NT69)

If you have time and want to save money, i would suggest u to take Qujian Hao.

PS. For Qujian Hao, there is no difference whether you buy the ticket early or not. If there is empty seat, then you can sit on it. However, for Ziqiang and Juguang Hao, there is the stand ticket and seat ticket. If you buy it early, you will have the seat number printed on your ticket and you no need to stand for long distance =)
Besides, the more expensive the ticket, the bigger the size of the ticket..LOL

Then you have to know which destination to the south or to the north. It`s because they din put up the route of the train on the board. They only put up the southest and the northest destinations. So u have to know which destination is same direction with ur destination, then only u know which platform to wait and which train should you take.
Still, in order not to mistaken train, it`s always best to confirm from the guard at the train station. =)
ps. thr is always a clock, which similar to those in our LRT or KTM stations, reminds us the time of arrival of the train. The train seldom delayed.

Then here we officially depart to Kaoshiung^^
Our first station Ciaotou Sugar Refinery Station 桥头糖厂.

Railway
We are early =p

Need to go through the underground passage to the platform
The SMALL ticket
ps have to be careful when carry it.
When u put it somewhr, it`s hard to be found.
Believe me, I tried =p

Once we reach Ciaotou Che Zhan (桥头车站), we need to switch to MRT to Ciaotou Refinery Station (only 1 station away).
There are 3 types of card that you can buy for the convenience of travel.
1. 一日卡 (One-day Card) NT200
You can use it limitless to travel ard Kaoshiung, but only restricted to the MRT.
2. 二日卡 (2-days card) NT230     Limitless for 2 days!!!
Actually it quite hard to spend so much on MRT for only 2 days. But it`s quite convenient as you no need to queue up to buy ticket. It saves alot of time =)
3. 悠游卡 NT200 (but the NT100 is paid for the card, so you only can use NT100 and then top up when u need) Using the card will have discount. However, it`s more practical for Kaoshiung people...

2-days Card

View from the top of the station

Cannot hide our excitement!!!
ps. you can always take the free Travel brochure from the information counter. They are quite friendly to the tourists =)
